This punny party took place in San Fransisco. Some items were purchased in the Dollar Tree there but most things are generic enough to be found at any dollarama!

This little miss has two older brothers so there were a lot of kids attending the event. In order to keep them busy her mom, Hannah, set up a craft table with paint, brushes, and pallets ($1.25 at Dollarama) for the kids to paint some birdhouses. She found a set of 12 for $20 (USD) on Amazon.

When I was down visiting we started working on some DIY printable banners. I found a this site that let you print any letter of the alphabet in this custom font with the triangle outline. She found the birdhouses at her local dollar tree in a section for classroom props.

Hannah printed out pictures from each month of Wren's year and used tiny clothes pins to attach them to some twine. Very simple and very cute. Peg boards are such a great decoration because they are customizable to any event.
This peg board was from Target but you can find something comparable a Homesense, Hart, or Walmart. I've seen these two at Dollarama for $4.
A banner was printed out for the high chair Wren sat at while she enjoyed her first taste of cake! Find the letters you need here!

-Food-
The spread was geared towards a snacky crowd. She had charcuterie, veggies, fruits and all of the other traditional party snacks like...
And most importantly... CUPCAKES!
Mini eggs were out of season but these peanut M&Ms were a delicious stand in! The recipe to make the nests was from Smitten Kitchen but they replaced Rice Krispies with bran cereal (so ya these are kind of healthy!).

I've also made a faux nest using a chocolate macaroon recipe!
Hopefully this gives you some inspiration for a non conventional theme. I love when people go outside of the box and think up something truly original and punny!
